Improvisation
New students usually begin in the Improvisation Class where they learn the basic vocabulary of the theatre through a series of games that teach them to focus, concentrate, listen, think and react. At the end of each term, all perform in a showcase demonstrating the skills they have learned.

With this as a background, students are ready to tackle more rigorous training in voice, diction and movement as well as participate in productions.

Class Times: Saturday Mornings, 10am - 12 noon
Spring 2010 Semester:Begins 1/16/10

Studio
After mastering skills in the Improvisation Class, students enter Studio. It is here that students are introduced to written dramatic material. The focus is on character development, scene analysis and movement for the stage.

Once students have reached this level they are encouraged to audition for Walden Theatre productions. In December, the class presents a showcase of modern scenes and in April, it presents "In Celebration of Shakespeare", a collection of Shakespeare scenes, sonnets and monologues.

Here students develop as actors in an environment that is both challenging and comfortable. Students study a variety of acting techniques, as well as voice and movement.

The Performance Class is the primary casting pool for Walden Theatre productions. High School Seniors work with instructors to develop audition packages for post secondary theatre auditions placement.
