characters and stories! Using their
imaginations to inhabit their story,
they will learn the basics of acting
through exciting games, activities and
movement, all culminating in a fun
performance for family
and friends on our
last day

Art Camp
In this class, students will create original artwork using a variety of mediums:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Mask-making
- Paper mache
- Wood sculpture
- And more

What to Bring
- Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and shoes that will stay on. (No flip-flops.)
- Send your child with a marked
snack. We have a fridge and
drink and snack machines.
- Art Camp kids should bring a smock that can stay at
Walden during the week.
NOTE: Please leave all music/photo/video devices, hand-held video games, jewelry, weapons, and chewing gum at home.

We have lots to accomplish in one week!
Camps start promptly at 9:30 am and end at noon.
Instructors
Laura Patterson - Art Camp
Laura has been teaching art to children for over
20 years. In addition to being a teacher, Laura herself creates original art for the theatre,
and is a costume designer for Actors Theatre and Walden Theatre. She has designed costumes for Walden Theatre's productions of Of Mice and
Men, Holy Ghosts, The Winter’s Tale, Misalliance, The Time of Your Life, King Lear, Tartuffe, Playing For
Time, Summer and Smoke, Picnic, Pride and Prejudice, The Crucible, Charley's Aunt, Much Ado About
Nothing, Love's Labour's Lost, The Tempest, Hamlet, and Twelfth Night. Laura holds a BFA in Set
& Costume Design from Syracuse University and an MFA in Costume Design from Boston University.
Her designs for ATL included Dracula, Corpse, I Hate Hamlet, Shadowlands, 1969, Betty the Yeti, Sherlock
Holmes, To Kill a Mockingbird, Keely and Du, Stanton's Garage, La Bete, The Beaux' Strategem, The
Heidi Chronicles, Prelude to a Kiss, Quartermaine's Terms, and Picnic, as well as many Humana Festival
plays. Laura has worked at the Dallas Theatre Center, Syracuse Stage, Stage West, Huntington Theatre
Company, and Houston Grand Opera, and her work has been shown in Prague, Czechoslovakia. A
Walden Theatre alumna, she is married to Walden Theatre's Artistic Director, Charlie Sexton and they
have two sons, Aaron and Ian.
Gina Theresa Cisto - A Woodland Fantasy Workshop
Gina is the Education Associate at Blue Apple Players, Inc. A summa cum laude graduate of the College Scholar Program at The University of Tennessee, Gina graduated with a B.A. in theatre education with an emphasis in acting, directing and dramaturgy in 2004. An award winning actor and director, Gina has worked in theatre both professionally and regionally since she herself was a child. Passionate about sharing the power of drama with young people, Gina has taught workshops in hundreds of schools, libraries and community centers across the metro-Louisville and greater Kentucky area. Her unique and dynamic way of teaching has been hailed as innovative and ground-breaking by education administrators and teachers alike. Gina is thrilled to continually have the opportunity to instill and inspire a love and respect for theatre in young people.
