Too old for Art Camp at Walden?
Walden Theatre’s Art Camps are for ages 5-11, but if any of our students or siblings are interested in continuing with art (hopefully while sticking with Walden Theatre’s Summer Academy and/or Skill-Building Workshops!) out the wide range of art camps available from Louisville Visual Art Association based this summer at the Clifton Center and the Kentucky School of Art. Here’s some information about what they have to offer!
Partnering with the Clifton Center and The Kentucky School of Art, the LVAA is offering ten full-day, one-week camps and three half-day, one-week camps. Elementary & Middle school camps will take place at LVAA@Clifton Center and the High School camps will be housed on the campus of Kentucky School of Art in downtown Louisville. An experienced arts educator and an assistant will lead each camp. The majority of camp instructors are faculty members from the LVAA Children’s Fine Art Classes (CFAC) program.
The 2013 camps are designed to provide maximum educational benefit with interdisciplinary programming, which integrates visual art, drama, and music into one fully immersive experience.
Camp enrollment is limited so that each participant will have maximum opportunity for unique art experiences, including but not limited to, learning with clay, printmaking, and sculpture – to creative writing, bookmaking, wearable art, painting portraits, and more!
LVAA Summer Camps are offered from June 10- August 2, 2013 and range in cost from $120-220. Current CFAC students are automatically members of LVAA and receive the member rate for camps. To join LVAA, click here.
Founded in 1909, the Louisville Visual Art Association is the leading catalyst for education and participation in the visual arts in Louisville and one of the oldest visual art organizations in the nation. Each year, LVAA provides high quality art instruction to thousands of local students, underserved audiences; stages myriad fine art exhibitions, lectures and community outreach efforts; and provides artists advocacy and support programs. Launched in 2012, Artebella is a website and daily email program that features the work of a different Louisville-area artist for sale, each weekday.
